SQLite table to Excel or CSV
A typical request: "here is the database from the program, I need the table in Excel." You need neither SQL nor an installed client for that — open the database and export the table you want.
Free for personal use. The database is not uploaded to a server — everything happens in the browser. Windows version — 3.5 MB, no installation: details. Organizations: license.
Step by step
- Drag the database file into the app window. The first table opens.
- If you need a different table, pick it in the file parsing panel.
- If you do not need every row, narrow them down with a filter: the export takes exactly what is on screen.
- Export → Excel, CSV, DBF, JSON or SQL.
All tables in one workbook
If you need the whole database, the file parsing panel has an Open all tables as tabs button. After that, in the Excel export dialog choose the option to export all open tabs: you get one workbook with a sheet per table, and every sheet keeps its own filter and its own columns.
What happens to types
In SQLite the type belongs to the value, not to the column: text can sit in an INTEGER column. The app derives a column's type from its declaration by the same rules as SQLite itself, and hands out the values the way they are in the file.
- Dates. SQLite stores them as text like
2024-03-05 14:00:00. In columns declared as DATE or DATETIME such text becomes a date — and lands in Excel as a date, not a string. - Booleans. BOOLEAN in SQLite is 0 and 1; it is shown as a tick box.
- Long identifiers. A 64-bit number that does not fit Excel's precision without loss is delivered as text: a rounded ID is worse than a text one.
- BLOB — binary data such as images — is shown as a size; in an export it appears as a marker with the size, not the content.
If you have more than a million rows
An Excel sheet is limited to 1,048,576 rows, and that is a property of the format, not of the program. Export a large table to CSV, which has no such limit — or split it into parts by a column, for example by year, with the Split into files tool.
FAQ
Can I export the result of a query with a JOIN?
Yes. Data → SQL query…: the result opens as a tab, and you export it like any other table — to Excel, CSV or DBF.
How do I export a view?
Choose it in the file parsing panel like a table: the view is run by the SQLite engine, and the result is exported as usual.
Will leading zeros in codes be kept?
Yes: a text value stays text in Excel too.
