Compare tables side by side
A list of differences between two exports is only the first step: you see that a record changed, but not what exactly, nor what the whole row looks like. To understand what happened to forty fields you need to see both rows next to each other. That is what the side-by-side view of the comparison does.
How to open it
- Open both tables — say, last month’s export and the current one.
- “Tables” → “Compare with another table…”, choose the key fields — as in an ordinary comparison — and click “Compare”.
- Below the results click “Side by side…”.

What is on screen
- Whole rows on both sides, with the columns in the same order even if the tables list them differently: they are matched by name.
- Red marks values on the left that changed or disappeared, green marks values on the right that changed or appeared. An added record has a hatched gap on the left, a removed one on the right.
- Filters “Changed”, “New”, “Removed”, a search by key, and an “Only columns with differences” switch that hides everything that did not change.
- The panes scroll together vertically and each scrolls on its own horizontally, which helps when there are many columns.
The window shows up to 5,000 differences and draws only the visible rows, so it opens at once. If there are more, narrow the comparison: filter the rows or pick fewer columns.
FAQ
Does the file go to a server?
No. The comparison and the view run in your browser tab.
Can I compare tables with different column order?
Yes. Columns are matched by name, not by position. Columns present in only one table are not compared, and the result says so.
What does the hatching mean?
That record has no counterpart on the other side: it appeared or disappeared.
Can I edit values in this window?
No, it is a view. Edit in the tables themselves.
