Save a table as PDF
You need a report to sign or a file to email: the rows you filtered, the columns you want, tidy pages. Normally the export is opened in Excel, the print margins are adjusted and only then is the PDF saved. Here the PDF is built straight from the open file, with the same filters and sort order as on screen.
How to save it
- Open a file — DBF, Excel, CSV, XML, JSON, SQLite or Parquet — and filter down to the rows you need.
- Click the printer icon or press Ctrl+P.
- Set the title, columns, page orientation and font size, then click “Save as PDF”.

The file contains what is on screen: the row order, the filter, the visible columns. You can take only the selected rows.
What ends up in the file
- The table header repeats on every page, and the footer carries the date and page number.
- Cyrillic and other alphabets are drawn with an embedded font, so nothing turns into empty boxes.
- Text stays text: the document is searchable and you can copy a value out of it.
- Highlighting of rows and cells and color scales carry over as cell fills.
- Long values wrap inside the cell; a value too long even for a whole page is cut with an ellipsis, and the app tells you so.
Limits
A single PDF takes up to 50,000 rows, 5,000 by default. Traffic-light and arrow icons are not carried over; color scales are. The free edition saves up to 200 rows per PDF and adds a small “Tabulens” line to the footer; Pro removes both. If you want paper, the “Print” button is next to it: same dialog, and you pick the printer in the system dialog.
FAQ
Does the file go to a server?
No. The PDF is built in your browser tab or in the Windows app, and the page technically cannot send the file’s contents to any other address.
How is this better than “Save as PDF” in the print dialog?
It works the same everywhere — in the browser and in the Windows app — needs no margin settings and always repeats the header on every page.
Can I search the text in the PDF?
Yes: the text in the file is real text, not a picture.
Does it work for big files?
For tables up to 50,000 rows per file. For more, narrow the table with a filter or split it into several files.
Free to use. Your file is not uploaded to a server. Windows version — 4.0 MB, no installation: details. Pro — $29 once: price.
